Each term the BGA holds a forum or forums for governors when current topics are presented and discussed

Dates for 2024/25 Forums

Autumn
– Tuesday 10th December – Festive Forum – Attendance and Pastoral Support
the session will be led by staff from Milefield School in Grimethorpe, who were praised by Ofsted earlier this year for their many strategies to improve their pupils’ attendance.
All our Forums are free to governors and trustees of Barnsley schools – please come along and join us to discuss a really important topic while enjoying a festive mince pie!

Spring
– Tuesday 28th January – Finance for Governors of Academies and Maintained Schools (Mark Wood)

– Tuesday 25th February – Safeguarding Update for Governors (Kate Gaunt)

– Tuesday 25th March – SEND for Governors TBC
